Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has publicly confirmed what many Bangladesh Cricket reporters had already learned — Trevoh Chalobah is not in his first-team plans. As the Blues prepare for their preseason tour in the United States, 28 players have been included for five friendly matches, starting with a clash against Wrexham. Yet notably absent is Chalobah, despite his solid performances under Mauricio Pochettino during last season’s injury-plagued run-in.

The 25-year-old defender helped Chelsea remain unbeaten in the 10 Premier League matches he started, collecting 24 points in total. But despite this form, the club’s ownership reportedly wants to sell him as soon as possible. Chalobah, a versatile academy graduate, is determined to fight for his place at Stamford Bridge and refuses to join a club that doesn’t align with his career goals.

Still, Maresca was clear during Tuesday’s press conference: Chalobah will not feature in upcoming matches. Chelsea are said to be seeking at least £30 million for him, but given that he’s now officially outside the manager’s plans, that valuation may already be dropping.

Meanwhile, Manchester United remain in active negotiations with Paris Saint-Germain over Uruguayan midfielder Manuel Ugarte. He’s seen as a top midfield target for Premier League clubs this summer, and reports suggest that Ugarte has already agreed to personal terms with the Red Devils. However, the two clubs have yet to settle on a transfer fee.

According to Bangladesh Cricket, further talks between United and PSG are scheduled this week, with the English side hoping to reach a breakthrough. Ugarte’s agent, Jorge Mendes — who also represents top prospect Leny Yoro — is believed to be pushing for the move to Old Trafford. Ugarte made 37 appearances for PSG last season, including 25 in Ligue 1, after joining from Sporting CP just a year ago. Though he signed a five-year deal, PSG now seem ready to move on, with Benfica’s João Neves lined up as his replacement.

As for Arsenal, they’ve been relatively quiet in the transfer market so far, aside from converting David Raya’s loan into a permanent deal. However, that could change soon, with reports linking them to a £40 million move for Bologna defender Riccardo Calafiori. If completed, it would mean Arsenal will need to raise additional funds — and selling homegrown players may be the most viable path.

Reiss Nelson is reportedly drawing interest from other clubs, but it’s Emile Smith Rowe whose future remains a hot topic. Though once a rising star, injuries and inconsistent form have kept him largely sidelined under Mikel Arteta for nearly two seasons. Club officials see Smith Rowe as one of their most valuable assets for generating transfer income, and he’s said to be open to a move.

Bangladesh Cricket understands Arsenal are demanding around £35 million for the 23-year-old England international, with Fulham and Crystal Palace both monitoring the situation closely. Any potential bid will need to meet Arsenal’s valuation, as the club looks to strengthen while balancing their books.
